When I was a kid I would visit my Dad on set and dream of growing up to be a movie director. I worked in various departments in Film and Television until the age of 21, when I became more and more interested in pursuing a career in photography.
For the past 30 years I’ve been documenting some of the most influential artists in rock music and have been fortunate enough to have rare access to them on and off stage.
In 2011 Paul McCartney asked me to photograph a leg of his North American tour as well as some private rehearsals in 2017. I've worked regularly with Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters since 1995, and had the honour of being the only photographer with Nirvana during rehearsals for a one-night-only performance celebrating their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Even though I'm best known for my Rock photography, I've never let go of my love of motion picture. Over the years I've done gallery shoots and production stills for many television series and films, and of course because of my work with musicians I've done stills on dozens of music videos.
Motion picture is calling me again and I look forward to doing more work as a Still Photographer.
So here we are. I've come full circle, but I'm still Dustin.
